Pavilion at Risk

Please note the paragraph "But as well as looking at ways of improving the pavilion, the Parish Council is also asking villagers to consider whether it is viable to continue to operate the building." At the moment the upkeep of the building and cleaning is subsidised by the Parish Council with contributions from the Tennis, Cricket, Sunday Football club and EB Lions. The financial issue has this year been exaggerated with the withdrawal of the Village Cricket Club and subsequent Pavilion funding.

Tennis Club usage of The Pavilion

  • JUNIOR COACHING Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday occasional toilet usage and shelter during inclement weather.
  • COMMITTEE Meetings
  • LEAGUE matches junior and adult in the summer followed by a tea for the away team.
  • SCHOOL HOLIDAY coaching/tournaments.
  • FINALS Day all day usage followed by the evening Barbecue Presentation.
  • AGM

The removal of this facility would have a very detrimental effect on the future well being of the Tennis Club.
